Chief Warrant Officer Brian Archer, assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 1, launches a Scan Eagle unmanned aerial vehicle from the flight deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45). Scan Eagle is a runway independent, long-endurance, unmanned aerial vehicle system designed to provide multiple surveillance, reconnaissance data, and battlefield damage assessment missions.
