Here in Spain nougat is eaten at Christmas. It is the most important sweet of the parties.

Did you ever make it? That is good to know. My son loves it. The Italians have a real hard one too, that's the one I remember from my younger days now it is a little softer and easier on the teeth 😃

I always buy it already made, but it is made with almonds and sugar (and caramelized popcorn, optional)

And has lots of egg whites too that you beat with the sugar until super stiff unless you make it like Sharon and it never gets hard 😟  It usually comes with almonds and vanilla, lemon or orange. I like them all.
