I'm building some walls for a wargaming table like this, and this has just given me the inspiration I needed to really make the edges and tips of the spires stand out very nicely. I van paint them as if they are lit from inside, with the light leaking out of the slight gaps in their construction. Should look pretty darn awesome by the time it's finished, I hope :-)
