ARABIAN GULF (March 9, 2012) Sailors commemorate 30 years since the ship's commissioning with a formation on the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). Carl Vinson was commissioned March 13, 1982. Carl Vinson and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 17 are deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
