The Lackey moth (Malacosoma neustria) is common across southern Britain and central Europe. Malacosoma species are notable for their caterpillars which are brightly colored and form silken tents to regulate their temperature. Malacosoma neustria caterpillars are brown with blue, orange and white stripes.
