The quote in cursive is from Andrew Wommack Ministries (I do not know who exactly said it, as there was no reference).
The thing about the Bible, that is, the reason so many people misunderstand it, is because it is a spiritually-minded book based solely on the love and faith of God, and we with our finite brains cannot comprehend the spiritual (1st Corinthians 2:10-16). It is that simple, but is not so easy because most of us are hard-hearted (Matthew 24:12). It takes constant meditation to actually learn what each verse means, why God includes it in His Word, and what you can gain from it (Joshua 1:8, 2nd Timothy 3:16). But it's not just about knowing it and gaining something thereby; if you read the Word with a sure desire for it, unbiased and unflinching, you will see the truths of God (Jeremiah 29:13), and your heart will change for the better. Yes, you will suffer persecution for being Christ-like (2nd Timothy 3:12). And, yes, it will be difficult at first: Jesus describes the stages of spiritual understanding in Matthew 13:18-23 and Mark 4:13-20. Do not be intimidated by this fact, but just know that it will work the more you apply the Word.
Note that I could insert a plethora of scriptures to back up each little aspect of this, so do not underestimate the Bible for anybody's lack of perfect clarity. Delve into the Bible for personal revelation, and look up Andrew Wommack (awmi.net - Extras) to confirm it.
