Castle of Pomeranian Dukes in Darlowo was built by Boleslav V in 1352-72 on old Mill Island. In the gate's tower there was a chapel, guards rooms and a treasury on the third floor. The castle was surrounded by a 14 meters high wall. Till XVI c. the castle was overbuilt by next dutches. In 1624 Boguslav XIV rebuilt the Knight's Chamber into a chapel. Then the Brandenburgia Elects took the castle. then there were fires and in XVIII c. there was a warehose here. In XIX c. there was a hospital for Napoleon's soldiers, next a trial and arrest. The museum started in 1929. Inside u can see st. Elisabeth chapel, a map from XVII c., and a cat that was taken away from inside of the wall (makes an impression!!), weapons, shields...
