Free For Private, Personal UseThe Janowiec Castle was built for Mikolaj Firlej in the early sixteenth century. Later the architect Santi Gucci turned it into a manneristic residence combining features of both a castle and a palace. A Baroque chapel was erected in the courtyard in the mid-seventeenth century. Since the early years of the nineteenth century the Janowiec Castle started to deteriorate and before long fell into ruin.
