In the year 1800 Victor was discovered in the woods in the south of France, covered in scars and unable to speak a word.

Little is known about his feral background, but scientists learned that he was barely able to feel cold.

Others tried to teach him to speak and behave “normally”, but he was never able to learn how. He was later institutionalised in Paris, and died aged 40.
