In 1991, Oxana Malaya was found living with dogs in a kennel. Her alcoholic parents left her outside when she was three, and she crawled into a kennel
looking for warmth. She remained with the dogs for six years, during which she learned to run on all fours, pant with her tongue out and bark.
Because she hadn’t interacted with humans, she only knew the words “yes” and “no”.
After intensive therapy, she learned basic language and social skills. She’s now 30, and works with farm animals in a clinic in Odessa.
